Maintenance of a conector

Please note that this advice is indicative and not contractual and for prevention purposes. 

Connectors with traces of oxidation, rust, short circuit or any other weather-related damage cannot be covered under warranty.

It is essential for the outdoor installation to protect the connectors against bad weather, all it takes is a little condensation or water in the RJ45 POE connectors to create a short circuit.

The result is permanent damage to the camera connector and the RJ connector.

If the connector is repairable, it will be enough to cut and then put back a connector, on the other hand the connector of the camera is damaged and cannot be repaired as well as the camera itself if the short circuit has damaged it. 

To protect the camera or any other outdoor product, we recommend:

1. Use a waterproof junction box to place the RJ45 connectors.
2. Use the gland supplied with the camera in the junction box.
3. Use an insulating adhesive roll such as a Chatterton to insulate the connectors.
4. Use a BIZ'GEL sealing gel to seal the junction box (Be careful to use the gel once the whole installation is finished and functional)
5. Clean the cameras regularly and check the condition of the connectors. 
6. Install the camera in such a way as to prevent water from running off the camera or lens if possible, and put on an extra cap. 
7. Use crimped connector that fits into the cable gland

Cable gland :

• Use a cable designed for outdoor use such as rodent repellent, UV, or sheath if necessary.
  

• It is also advisable to provide a sufficiently long loop at the junction box outlet, so that the drop of water can descend along the cable and fall without entering the junction box.

An outdoor camera is subject to the surrounding dirt and the presence of insects, it is imperative to clean it regularly according to your living area and to remove the ni, cobwebs.

For the globe or lens, use a microfiber and window cleaner gently to avoid scratches on the glass.

The presence of dirt leads to:

Blur or fog at night

Focus problem on motorized VFs

Glare from the reverberation of infrared LEDs. 

Degradation of equipment, rust, etc.
